Please could you give me some advice
I have just my final fact finding hearing adjourned in which i have not been given a date as of yet as my child mother has claimed that my son is sick and is in isolation.
My child mother has done this before during our first hearing due to child care issues as i have to travel 200 miles as well as take time of work to attend these hearing. How could i prevent this from happening again as i feel i could be travelling up and down the motorway for many occasions and taking time of work?

Hi, I understand that you must feel frustrated in this situation, so I hope the following advice will be helpful to you.

Since the purpose of the fact-finding hearing is to consider the allegations, parents are very likely to be asked to attend.* Also, if you are the person who is making the allegation, then you must ensure to attend the hearing because you need to prove the truth of the allegations.* Either way, if you failed to attend, then it is likely to have a negative impact on the case.

As for preventing the same thing happening again, you may want to consider to raise this issue to your lawyer/representative or to the court.* It is for the judge to decide what to do in the court, and if you highlight your concerns, it is likely to be taken into account for future hearings.*

    Thanks
