  • Discharge an SGO Order

    Hello,

I'm looking for help to discharge an SGO Order.

My wife and I are special guardians of our 2 nieces and have been for the last eight years they are aged 11 and 13. We have struggled all the way through with a small contribution from the local authority but our main problem has been no help from family and the local authority told us this would be temporary until their parents get back on their feet. This hasn't happened and we havent heard from them for years!! This has damaged our relationship with our son and we want to go back to how we were as we are now deeply unhappy.

I have a copy of a C1 Application for an order. Is it a case of filling this in and filing it with the family court to get a hearing?

I spoke to a solicitor and they want 2k plus which is unaffordable for us.

Thank you for reading this and any advice is welcome.
