    Hello I'm wondering if anyone can advise on this , my partner was married and lived in southern Ireland for 17 years ( he is british wife is irish) he has 3 children, where does he stand legally and what would his best position be regarding where he lives , work etc , he has always supported his children from day one and when he first came back to live in the uk he was paying approx £1300 monthly and in addition to this he paid for school uniforms , birthdays and xmas ,this was something he could not keep up and tried to make extra money but failed miserably, he wants to pay but just cant pay what is asked can anyone advise??????? Thanks

    I assume the following. The payment obligation was made by the Irish authorities. The children live in Ireland.

    If he has fallen on hard times, his only recourse is to apply to the Irish authorities for the amount payable to be reduced.

    The obligation is enforceable in the UK.

      I think the original agreement was between themselves , (the children all reside in Ireland) but now the most recent letter is through HM courts and tribunals

        Unfortunately, no one can give advice in a vacuum. Post up a redacted copy of the letter from HMCTS, as a start.
