    Can anybody advice me if its legal for my employer to alter clocking in times

        We clock in at 6.30 stay for 4 hrs clock out
        Times on payslip show we started at 7 so lost half hr a day
        No explanation given no warning given

            Irs 7 till 11 but we were told if 6.30 was better to do that till 10.30
            Been doing that for a year but last 2 pay slips show started 7 till 10.30

                Never signed a contract
                Was just told we could do 6.30 till 10.30 or 7 till 11
                For some reason after doing 6.30 to 10.30 they have manually changed it to say 7 to 10.30 making us loose half hr a day
                Surely they should have warned us not just stopped wages

                    I would treat it as though it was just an error on their part and speak to boss / HR dept.

                      Ok but its been going on for 3 months
                      Short on wages not getting what expected each month without warning is wrong

                          We noticed it this month but checking last months payslip it happened last month also

                              Firstly it seems that you do not have a contract of employment stating hours if work - am I correct?

                              If this was a verbal agreement and you have been doing this pattern of 6.30 to 10.30 for a year it could be viewed as custom an practice, although you say that they picked this up 2 months ago.

                              As previously advised you need to speak to HR or your manager if there is no HR department to get clarity on the situation. Just ask if there has been an error and see what they have to say.
