  • Colleague on a go-slow

I work with someone who is effectively on a go-slow in the mistaken belief it will make us give her tasks that she prefers but that carry more responsibility that we know she can't manage, and which by her behaviour shows her up in a bad light and as someone undependable. To my mind, it is just short of going on strike, being at work and doing something just to get paid, but making no other effort, which in turn puts more pressure on us. Where do we stand with someone like this - management are not totally unhelpful, but not particularly helpful in their suggestions to try and manage the situation either.

This is not something you can solely, nor should have to solely deal with. Management should be listening to the complaints and actively working to overcome the issue.*

Do you have a HR department that you can raise the issue with? particularly that your management team are not taking the matter seriously and it is having a detrimental effect on other colleagues at work.
