• Notice periods

    Hi there.

    A brief situation report.
I have been working for a company more than 8 years. This week the relationship between me and my boss turned unacceptable for both side. I do not want to work for him, he advice me to leave the job.

I do not want to do the 30 days notice period. He very-very short for workforce. If I will not show up on Monday morning to work that is going to be a big hit on him.

May I use this, and I quot from an other website : " You have been asked to do something which is clearly unethical or illegal " for not to do the notice period?

I have been asked to do something illegal on daily basis.
    It is TAX related.

You have to be able to prove that you were asked to do that illegally so email would be good. Have you considered simply finding another job or do you have the funds to simply resign and survive whilst looking for something else?

You may have a case for constructive dismissal (a type of unfair dismissal), but as leclerc has pointed out, you will need proof of your employer's conduct concerning the illegal acts.
Also, Employment Tribunals do like to see that you have used the firm's official grievance procedure first.

Thanks for the quick response! My job delivering goods. From day one I have been asked to collect cash from customer not giving receipt. Because I knew this one coming, I did record the most of this cash collection in the last couple of months.
I also able to give information where the company keeps their record about the cash collection. Yes, I have money for the rainy days and I strongly considering to move back to country of my origin.
