  • Demanding Employer

Whenever my fiancé takes a day off sick her employer treats it as though she is working from home, emailing, texting, and phoning with an ever increasing workload for her to do while she is laid up in bed. I was always under the assumption that this was illegal and yet it seems to be common policy at her firm as she has told me that she is not the only member of staff that this happens to. What are her rights? Every time I try to look it up on google it redirects me to sick pay etc.

She switched her work phone and laptop off and they have decided to use her personal line as they know she cannot switch it off due to children at school etc

Call block the work numbers on the land line.

Or caller display and do not answer.
