New manager changing my hours? Any help appreciated

Hi guys I'm wondering if anyone can help I work for Poundland and have done for 7yrs I have a daughter who is 4 ever since I returned from maternity leave nearly 4 years ago I have had a set shift pattern which was agreed with my previous manager I've been working 11-5 mon-fri

My husband also has a set shift pattern of 6pm-midnight mon-fri so the hours we work suit our childcare needs

Anyway last week we got a new manager who on Friday said he would be looking at the rota and may make some changes before I left work on Friday I approached him and explained my situation my husband can not change his hours at all and we have no other childcare options his reply was that he wasn't interested in my personal circumstances his only concern was the needs of the shop and if he chooses to change my hours and I can't do them I better look for a new job

So fast forward to this morning and I get a call from work saying not to come in for 11 today as the new manager has changed my shifts for the rest of the week to 3pm-9pm

The manager obviously knows fine well I will not be able to do this as I need to be home before 6pm to look after my 4yr old daughter

Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening I love my job my husband 100% can't make any changes to his hours of work and we have no other childcare options

I'm not sure if it's relevant but it's weekly pay and the Rota is/was usually put up on a Sunday morning for the following week however the majority of the Store always had set shifts so that's never really been an issue

Just to bump your thread up, I think that it will depend on your contract as to whether or not your employer can change your shift pattern.
There is also a possibility that he is discriminating indirectly as you are a woman with childcare responsibilities.

As things stand there is a good argument for an implied term of 'behaviour of the parties in practice' in the employment contract.

It is important to promptly make clear, preferably in writing, that you object to the change, as failure to do so could be seen as acceptance.
