Contacting respondent directly

Is there anything to stop me from contacting the respondent in my case directly, instead of their solicitor?

I get the feeling be the best way to reach an agreement, is to cut out the middle man and talk to them directly. Would I get into trouble from the tribunal service if I tried this?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Strickly speaking you should make contact with whoever is listed on their ET3 as representative.
However, if you are looking to settle the matter, going directly to the employer would save the Respondent time and money.
It would be a very unusual Tribunal that reacted negatively to any efforts to settle the claim.

I'll email them on Monday, then possibly follow that up with a phone call through the week.
