  • Paid Under National Minimum Wage

    Good Evening,

It's been eating at me for some time but my employer has been paying me less than minimum wage for almost 7 months now. A colleague of mine on my team in the same situation approached him and was essentially brushed aside with "There are lot of people here who work more hour than they're paid for".

I get paid a basic wage of £18,000 p/a and I got my contact the other day finally and it says I am contracted to 48 hours a week. So this works out at roughly £6.92 p/h

I can't approach them in person as a small business with only 50 members of staff there isn't really a HR department.

I have no problem taking this further with them but I want to do it in the right way.

Has anyone got any ideas on what I can do.

    I get a different figure.
    48 * 52= 2496
    18000/2496= 7.21...

So I think your figures are wrong based on the above cos roughly it's more than the minimum wage.....

Well this is quite embarrassing, thank you for your help. As I go hide in corner from myself for this.

I'll be back with any further developments.
