  • Interesting retirement situation, what is my legal position?

I currently work for an International Company, but have been on long term illness for many years.

I am still on the payroll, and get a salary and wage slip every month through the post.

My salary is covered by a directors insurance scheme to cover long term sickness.

However, I am 65 this year and in accord with the terms of the Insurance policy, this will terminate.

My question, therefore, is, where do I stand with regard to being an employee and still receiving a salary or not. Can I be forced to retire at 65, or will there be grounds for some sort of financial settlement discussion?

    Thankyou.
