I am currently under investigation at tesco for not paying for goods. As I stated to them it was a mistake and I had goods I had paid for mixed up with goods I hadnt paid for my manager knows what I'm like putting things to the side that I want to buy. , this resulted in me getting a 'random' staff search at the end of my shift.. I suffer with bad anxiety and panic when I'm put on the spot, as I was searched I said I had misplaced my receipt even though I hadn't paid. I was then suspended with pay and recently had my first meeting. I had explained that i didn't pay and that I had got mixed up. While being off I have received messages off colleagues asking me why I did what I did? The only person I had told was my best friend. Surely this isn't right? I was told its 'private and confidential' but I guess not. Now I feel my mental health getting worse as the days go by, I try my best not to leave the house as I feel everyone is talking about me. If I wanted to leave my job could I during this investigation or not? Really need Advice.

Re: Suspension
How long have you worked there?
It's bad that this information has leaked. Unfortunately though, you won't be able to prove where the leaked information came from.
How bad is your anxiety?
How long have you suffered from it?
Does your employer know that you have it?
If so, how long have they known?
Are you receiving treatment for it?
