Hi, theres an employee at work who has taken time off due to an illness. Another employee has revealed that this illness is in fact made up purely to gain sympathy and allow for time spent looking for other jobs. Is there any legal way to expose these lies?

How do you know this employee isn't lying? Hearsay is a nightmare for the people involved. Surely if this person was applying for jobs, the company would know anyway as theyd have to put them down as a reference?

None that wouldn't require considerable time and effort on your part, if in fact your colleague is lying and there is a means to prove it. My advice is to forget about it.
