    I believe if it has the same t&c as tour origi al post it is 6 months.. Maybe wrong but that is the term i delt with when dealing with redundancy

      There isn't any set time.
      There is a three month time limit on bringing a claim for unfair dismissal so leaving it six months greatly reduces the chances of the employer receiving subsequent claims from ex employees, (although that time limit can be waived)
      However if having made redundancies there is a genuine reason for re hiring these posts (eg employer secures a new order) then timing is not an issue, (although the employer might be wise to approach those who lost their jobs)

        Agree with des, there is no hard and fast rule for this circumstance.

            Job titles essentially mean nothing - it is the tasks that are incorporated in the job that matter.

            But, as des has pointed out, there may be a diminishing need for a particular area of work so redundancies are made, then due to entirely unrelated factors, such as winning new business, the need for that work increases again.
