Enhanced parental leave and new job

I am applying for 3 months off in the summer as a father under the new shared parental policy where my company also provides an enhanced policy.

- is there any reason where I cannot apply for a new internal job in a different department whilst on leave?

- I am not sure whether one affects the other so thinking about the sequencing. The new job I had an informal chat and something was "being sorted out with HR". My ideal scenario is 3 months leave granTed, apply for new job and accepted, go on leave and return after 3 months straight to new job.

Can't see any reason why you can not. But its up to the employer at the end of the day if they want to agree to your taking the new role on upon your return.

If I have 2 months notice can that run alongside the leave that I have taken off? Or is it take 3 months off and the 2 month notice is deemed to start only when I return ?
