Is it a requirement for the investigating officer to attend a disciplinary meeting or is this usual practice?

Who's the investigating officer? Or are they simply another employee (manager/director/ HR) or 3rd party brought in by the employer to investigate and carry out the disciplinary procedure on behalf of the employer?Please note that this advice is given informally, without liability and without prejudice. The IO was a 3rd party employed to carry out the investigation but whose involvement has ceased.Comment

Right well the investigating officer doesn't have to be in attendance. So long as the person holding the meeting is impartial and not directly involved or connected to the accusations or acts that led to disciplinary action, then that is fine.Please note that this advice is given informally, without liability and without prejudice.
