  • Disaplinery question

I have recently been told I'm going to be getting a disaplinery at work, I will be having a meeting soon to give my side to the story. I don't enjoy working there and want to know if I leave now will I have a disaplinery against my name when applying for jobs and they ask for a reference?

    Re: Disaplinery question

Hello Jasperalbert and welcome to LB.

The answer to your question depends very much on the organisation you work for.
Most organisations, when asked for a reference, will now only give the dates you were employed, the job you were doing and very generalised info about your performance.
Nobody wants to be sued for defamation.
Some companies give chapter and verse. They can say anything about you (pretty much) as long as it's true.
Have they told you what the disciplinary interview is for?
    Are they justified?
If I were you, I'd ask them exactly what you've asked us here. If you decided to resign, could you forego the interview and what sort of reference will they give you?
    Good luck.
