    training costs

    Hi, Can anyone help please. I had 6 months training at work I did not sign anything ie like a contract. I handed my notice in ( I gave 3 months notice) nothing was mentioned about giving back the money for the course. A couple of weeks ago I received a letter from my previous employment demanding 950.00. I queried it saying I did not know anything about giving the money back.. Today I have received a letter stating that I have to give money back if the amount is over 1000.00 which its not. Please can anyone give me some advice.. thank you
