Probationary period completed without reviews job not given

I applied for an internal position in management, Ipcompany decided to change their minds and award a lower position on review in 12 months, no review has been given and it has been decided by the company, including my line manager not to continue with the job for me but to award it to him, he was on the panel deciding this issue and there has been no discussion with me whatsoever I found out by his email signature. Where do I stand, he did not apply for the job but has been award it, the one i applied for and was on probation for.

Well from experience I can only say, gather up every scrap of evidence, even notes in your diary or discussions with your partner and talk to ACAS and Citizens advice first before moving on.
