    Hello,

    If an employer carries out a grade review (to see whether you are on the correct pay grade) are they legally obliged to retain the evidence and outcome of the decision?

    Also, are they legally required to increase salary if this is the outcome of the review?

      I don't think there would be a legal requirement to do either, but a sensible employer would retain the evidence for at least a period and if they didn't follow the outcome, it would seem a bit of a pointless exercise.

      Is it public sector?

          OK - in the public sector evaluation schemes can be nationally negotiated and binding - not sure about the private sector - but the point remains that it would be a purposeless exercise if they don't follow the outcome.

          Do you have a union you can talk to?
