  • Envisaged redundancy date

    Hi all,
We are all under threat of redundancy where I am working, our company is re-locating a long way away. We have all been given terms and conditions including final payment details, any bonuses etc. and "Envisaged redundancy dates". It is now becoming obvious that the company move date is way behind schedule and management have started to talk about extending the finishing dates of employees. This is all well and good but people have started to plan there future lives around the date they have been given. My question is can the company move the goal posts and tell people that the date is moving a couple of months from the date originally given, or is that "Envisaged" date the date that we should be finishing. I for one am planning going self employed the week after the "envisaged" date and this will certainly upset my plans if I am not released at that point. Basically can the company mess you around like this legally, around 50 of us are affected and obviously they cannot operate without us.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

I should think that until a leaving date formally noted, then it is just best guess, though if they have other jobs to go to then they might as well leave.
