    Unjust wage?

    A young man works in a re-cycling unit where he and others, all males, are out in all weathers lifting and sorting often wet boxes and bins. To his amazement he has just discovered that the company's employees who do light work in the warm and comfy office, one male and five females, receive exactly the same wage for the same hours although the office staff do not work on Saturdays and Bank holidays. This seems extremely unjust but is there anything they can legally do about it?

    Would think there is no legal remedy remember the staff indoors are actually doing a different job.

      Nothing wrong with that, theres no legal requirement for employers to pay him more than the office workers, especially if both happen to be on minimum wage.

          You cannot do anything because every company makes sure to mention each and everything on the contract which works in their favor. It's the decision of the company management to decide the wages for each department.
