I have tried and requested a pay rise for the last 2-3 years without a successful outcome (i even went through ACAS and they where also ignored).I will be obtaining the minimum wage as of october. Can i refuse to do the skilled work and be asked to be put into work with no responsibility or do i have to continue doing the skilled work while others are receiving minimum wage and have no responsibility or are in work that is not skilled. Will i need to prove if this is skilled work that i have been doing for 8 years.I would like some advice if at all possible on my options and whether to continue as a disillusioned employee in silence.
8 years on same wage for skilled work and now i will be on minimum wage

Re: 8 years on same wage for skilled work and now i will be on minimum wage
If you are doing a skilled job, and you are, or will be on the minimum wage, then something has gone wrong.
You say you will be getting the minimum wage from October?
Are you on more than that now?
If not, does your contract of employment state your hourly rate?
How long have you been on the rate you are getting at present?
If your rate is in effect a pay cut, then you should have been consulted, and the employer may very well be at fault.
Deductions from pay must be legal, and any not authorised by legislation, can only be done by agreement from both parties.
