Hi,
I have been working IN THE UK for a company which home base is in my home country (in Europe).
My contract is permanent and signed by the Company UK and my salary is composed of:
* Basic Salary (half of my total salary)
* Housing Allowance (a quarter of my total salary) defined as: "If you take responsibility in finding your own accommodation the company will pay you Y per day"
* Expatriate Allowance (a quarter of my total salary) defined as: "As an expatriate employee you are entitled to X per day"
Nowhere in my contract is the clear definition of when these allowances are applied, although when I take holidays they do not pay me any of these allowances (even though I obviously still need to pay for the house). Also it's a bit strange that I have a UK contract and they pay me an "expatriate" allowance.
Now the tricky part, where I need your help: They said they needed my help back home. I accepted going back without a clear definition of how long (they said around 3 months) but I never ceased my contract in the UK. Now they decided that since I'm no longer in the UK, I'm not entitled to ANY ALLOWANCE, Housing or Expatriate, effectively cutting my salary in half.
Is this even possible? How can I fight for my rights (if any)?
Thanks
