Just wanted to check my boss is correct. We all work 8am - 5pm monday to friday which = 28 days holiday a year.

We only receive 20 of these as 3 we have to keep for the days between xmas and new year as he refuses to open the company as its not cost effective, like this year we have to use 4 due to 2nd Jan being a friday.

Is he allowed to deduct these days? We assume the other 5 days are for bank holidays and easter we never get a straight answer but he does close the company on bank holiday, good friday and easter monday we've had many different responses can he deduct these also?

    Hi Stefanie

Yes he is entitled to deduct Bank Holidays and also set shut down times. Read here for more details http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1374

Unless of course your contract states differently, sometimes they do. But I doubt it does in this case.
