I changed my contract to allow me to work a 4 day week due to personal circumstances, I work for 2 companies (one director owns one on his own and second jointly). He now wants me to work 5 days which I have told him I am not doing so he is getting someone else in for 5 days and allowing me to work for his 2nd company for the extra hours I lost with his 1st company. Can I claim redundancy money from the first company as technically he is making the 4 day contract into a 5 day contract? I have worked there for 6 years

Re: Change of contract
You changed your contract, not the employer.
It was you that forced any change in the contract, and not of the employers doing.
He has a business to run and has the right to make sure it runs efficiently.
I think my friend, that expecting redundancy is quite frankly, trying to get your cake, and eat it.
I am pretty sure an Employment Tribunal would throw this case out.“The only man who sticks closer to you in adversity more than a friend, is a creditor.”
