  • Advice if at all possible, please

    Hi,

Don't know if I am making a mountain out of a molehill but I'd be glad of any comments on my situation which is as follows:

A couple of weeks ago I applied for a post of temporary full-time LSA at the school which currently employs me as a MSA (permanent post) and as an After School Club Play Leader. I have, in the past few years, carried out a lot of voluntary work for the school which I have enjoyed very much.

On Monday I went into the staff room and on the notice board was the programme for the interviews which are being held on Thursday.

I have not had the courtesy of any written or verbal communication from the Head Teacher or senior member of staff to inform me of the decision not to invite me for an interview, especially as I was given the impression that I had a very strong application.

I feel that I am good enough to sweep floors and give my time for free but not for anything at a higher level.

The above post looks like sour grapes but I am thinking about requesting a meeting with the Head and would be grateful for any comments.

Unfortunately, the head teacher is not under any lawful obligation to notify you of any decision for not attending for an interview.

    You stated Quote:
given the impression that I had a very strong application.

What you have inferred is, that it was an impression.
What you took to be an impression, is merely that, and nothing more.
Other applications may very well show that others had more or even better qualifications than you.
Data protection act gives them anonymity.
Just accept that you was unlucky this time round.
    Another chance will occur......
