I have recently been advised by my employer that my post is at risk of redundancy as they have a deficit. However over the previous 10 mths some aspects of my role have been given to other staff, without consultation with me. I brought these issues up with my line manager several times and when I asked why was a certain colleague is doing aspects of my job, he'd say he 'didn't know' (well he should of!). He was new to me as a line manager. Also in my employers redundancy policy it says that they should restrict new positions if other staff are at risk of redundancy yet they have advertised new posts (not linked to my post and jobs that I couldn't apply for but none the less new posts which will have financial implications), it also says they should terminate any outside contractors yet have continue to use them whilst my job is at risk. Does anyone think I have a case for unfair dismissal? Thanks

Re: Unfair dismissal
How long have you worked for this employer? If it's less than two years then you cannot claim unfair dismissal at all.Nothing I say should be taken as qualified expert advice. I am not an expert in anything.
If you decide to act on anything I have posted you agree not to hold me liable in any way.
If you are unsure then you need to take proper advice from someone who is an expert.

Re: Unfair dismissal
Then if they have not followed their own policies, which you have stated they haven't, you may well have a case for unfair dismissal/sham redundancy. Have you submitted a grievance?Nothing I say should be taken as qualified expert advice. I am not an expert in anything.
