  • Payback - percentage written but no actual amounts

    Hi,

If a contract requesting back a payment of 75% of the total costs of a course doesn't specify any amounts at all ("During first year, 75% of the costs"), is it actually legally binding? No costs were provided at all in any other documents, not even estimates.

    Thank you in advance!!

the said contract would need to contain an original amount, for example, the course would cost £XXX and 75% would be £XXX or 75% would be calculated from that amount, or the amount owed at the point of breech (and or any penalty charges), If this is not in the contact then a reasonable statement of account would need to be supplied.
It may be that the contract was not under the consumer credit act, if so (others will advise more accurately) they are probably B/S you
