  • EMPLOYMENT Law - For holding two official positions

    Hi,
I need advice on wether I can be a director of a company and work for another company at the same time? Brief background of the situation is that I along with two other partners want to start a company providing software solutions ,at the same time I want to carry on working for my employer. There is NO conflict of interest between the two positions.

I am not clear if I need to declare this to my employer and make them aware and if I do so what can be the consequences.

    Thanks
    regards.

That would depend on your contract of employment with the company you are working for, some have clauses regarding disclosure of directorships, in extreme cases you may even be prevented from being a director in another company without their permission.
