    read up on your company absence policy, our's says disability absence is reduced by 100% not sure what they mean as I've just found it.

    the days absent x the no of occasions = a trigger point on a graph that is expressed in a number, I believe the number is reduced by 100% and should make it below the number to take action.

    the car accident is fair game for them, although I believe they can claim back your wages from the other parties insurance and in that case they shouldn't really penalise you ( although they lost your labour).

    Quite apart from the fact your absence has only been brought to your attention so far.
