  • Closing a limited company

I am in the process of closing a small limited company I had for just over a year.

It seems that my accountant is going to object to the strike off due to an unpaid
bill of £733 that I am unable to pay.

The company never took off the return was only £570 for the year, which was also
unpaid, and around £2000 in unpaid VAT.

The company didn't have any property, vehicles or any assets at all.

Any advise would be great, what could happen etc, I live in Scotland if that makes
    any difference.

    Thanks

You may want to look at this for reference: http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/abo...po8s.shtml#ch5

In particular, Chapter 5 refers to voluntary liquidation and what you need to do to take that route. :thumb:

Will the OP be liable for any cost or fees for this?

You are unable to pay, or the company? Who owes this money? If the company, the accountant can legitimately object to the strike off (as can HMRC, see below).

The company never took off the return was only £570 for the year, which was also unpaid, and around £2000 in unpaid VAT.
This is unclear. What does the 'unpaid' £570 refer to? Similarly, the £2000 in 'unpaid' VAT. Does this refer to monies owed to HMRC by the company?
