My wife left her previous employer (a UK based FTSE listed company) under a compromise agreement and was paid out just in 2012 / 13 tax year. She never received a P60, P45 or P11D for the 2012 / 13 tax year. She received a bonus in June 2013. Tax was deducted from the bonus but again she received no P45 or proper payslip. She doesn't plan to work in this tax year so in September she asked the tax office to repay a proportion of the tax. The tax office had no record of any tax paid for my wife from this employer in 2013 / 14 tax year. My wife wrote to her old HR contact at the company and received no response. What would you advise that she do next?
