                Re: Employment problem

Wrongful dismissal (withholding wages) is a breach of contract claim & so can be pursued via county court 'small claims'.

This can be done via Money Claim On Line, or if you are on benefits/reduced income, via your local court.

Before this you should send them a 'letter before action' (part of pre-action protocol) asking them to comply by (reasonable time).

                    Re: Employment problem

                    Hi,

Best to put it in your own words, but head it 'LETTER BEFORE ACTION', state that withholding wages amounts to 'an unlawful deduction from wages' as per the Employment Rights Act 1996, & unless £xxx is paid to you within (reasonable time) or alternatively a good reason is given for non-payment of same, you will escalate this matter without further communication.
