    my sons girlfriend in glasgow has just started a job. She doesnt get paid til October. The dwp has cut her benefits off completely from now. No housing benefit no money for her children.

    Is there any thing at all she do.

      Go to the Govan Law Centre for advice.

      She may be able to apply to the Scottish Welfare Fund for assistance during this transitional period.

      It is also worth checking on the Turn To Us website of there are any charities or benevolent funds which could help her.

        Housing benefit & council tax benefit may be payable for the first four weeks, depending how long she has been claiming benefits.
        If she works over 16 hours a week she may be entitled to working tax credit, less than 16 hours and might get Income support.
        Child tax credit.
        There is also "return to work credit"
        Don't despair.....get local advice as suggested by springer
