    hi guys need clarifications on some issues with my employer and would be grateful for any help on the matter
    can anyone give me an understanding on how national insurance contributions works
    my employer claimed i was not an employee of them but used the full class 1 and 1a insurance contribution
    they claimed i was a payee contractor
    what section of the law say they can make such deductions and yet not my employer
    are they meant to pay employers contribution under the law since i was a contractor

    would be grateful if someone helps

      i am a payee paid directly by my employer issued payslips and p60 at the end of every financial yr for 12 yrs p60 showed employee and employer contribution

        You can't really be a contractor after 12 years! What reason do they give for saying you are a contractor? Could it be to get out of providing holiday and sick pay? Talk to HMRCS.

        There is a section of the law that allows them to deduct tax from a contractor. I believe that NI is a different matter.
