    I think you need to consult a legal bod who is expert on such issues....noone on here can pick a figure/estimate,,it wouldn't be right or sensible to do so.

        Why should it? Was her character impugned only part of the time?

        For the avoidance of doubt, it would also be irrelevant if she habitually smelled of roses or if she stank of rotting elderberries.

          I think that, as has been suggested above, opening a conciliatory dialogue with professional mediation (eg ACAS) would be a sensible way forward.

            Usually, once a solicitor has been engaged, it is protocol to address all communication via them.
