That is tarring the disabled with the same brush, Eloise. Under what circumstances are you citing the disabled lie?

I did not say that. I said that people with disabilities are as capable of lying as anyone else. If you read the whole of what I said, I gave an example of claiming non-disability related illness as disability related illness so that it can be discounted. That would be unfair, as I pointed out, to people who have no disability but have been ill. You may not personally like managing sickness absence policies, but they are lawful. People with disabilities should get some compensation for their condition to support them in entering and remaining in work. But it should not be a cause for better treatement than those without disabilities. Otherwise it is not equality that is being argued for, but being better.

In my experience, some employers have very fair and reasonable absence management policies, but there are also employers who ignore medical advice and resort to bullying and threats to force genuinely-ill and disabled employees back to work when to do so would compromise the employee's health and safety and/or that of others or even retard their return to work. It is that sort of employer that needs clamping down on and one of the reasons I advocate a root and branch reform of Employment Law so that it is fair to ALL parties involved.

Absolutely anyone,,disabled or not,can lie.We cannot pretend to be purer than the driven snow just because we have a disability.
I actually lied for the last year or so of my working life..lied through my teeth,I was constantly in pain (denied it),was having serious dizzy spells (didn't admit it,,and a chef having dizziness in a big hot kitchen, wielding large kitchen knives etc wasn't exactly safe for anyone)..was past exhausted (hid it)
It took a momumental accident at home to bring all my lies to the surface,,all my concealments could have (and thank god didn't) put other people in jeopardy.I didn't want to admit my problems.
