Restricted covenants

I have been working for the same company for apx 3 years with no contract, it changed owners at one point and the new owner has assumed I have one. I want to leave and set up a simular company will I be bound by restricted covenants even though I dont have a contract.

You can't have a restrictive covenant if one doesn't exist! It has to exist before it exists, if you see what I mean...

Thanks Scottie Dog, I am very worried as my boss is a solicitor (well struck off actually) but I am scared that if there is a way to be vinductive he will find it. many thanks x

Yes but... relevance in law isn't quite like that and we have no idea what he was struck off for, and only the OPs understanding that he was. The fact that restrictive covenants have to be in writing pretty much does it for me.
