non payment of wages

Hi,

I hope you are well and can help. My name's xxxx and I hope you can be of some assistance re: the above individual. I 'll be as brief as possible. xxxxxx runs xxx ( formerly xxxxxx) and owes me in the region now of approximately £1024. However, the pressing amount in question is the £645 for the EFL Tutor work undertaken the period October 12th - October 30th. Monies that ought to have been submitted to my account on November 15th weren't. Promises have been made for which I have kept a record. A cheque for said amount was written on Monday November 19th only for it to bounce. Further promises have been made - even to pay me personally in cash - these too have not been forthcoming. A meeting was planned for last Friday, November 30, at xxxx ( a move from xxxxx on xxxxx ) which she failed to attend. The following day, Saturday December 1st, I received a text informing me that monies had been placed in my account and should clear within the next 48 hours. They didn't.

So that's about it in a nutshell. Further evidence/documentation will be made available on request.

It is better and more confidential if you remove personal informatoin such aas names, addresses, amounts and phone numbers when seeking advice.

You may be able to mkae a claim in the employment tribunal for Unlawful Deduction of Wages and/or to sue in either the ET or the county court re the bounced cheque. However, getting a judgement in your favour is not the same as getting the money if the company are in financial difficulties. If they go into receivership or liquidation, there is a government scheme which gives some limited protection to workers.
