The situation is like this. I work for my own limited company doing short term contracts for various buisnesses. I frequently get contracts from other agencies who contract me (or my company) to fulfil work for various buisnesses/companies. The understanding is that I will not work for these buisnesses on my own as the agency has introduced me to them and I continue to subcontract work from the agency as long as I work for these particular comapnies. The business for whom I am working at the moment is being sold and taken over by another company. This new company want me to work for them but do not want to involve the agency as they never employed me through them. But the agency are demanding a introduction fee as I worked for the previous employer who worked in those premises. Advise please.
