  • Timesheet question

My son has been working in my wife's places of work as a contractor. His contract finished and he moved away on a new contract. However, when he left he had forgotten to sign his last time sheet. As he was deperate for money he asked my wife to sign it for him. My wife is now being investigated for fraud, is this right. I understand that it was probably naive but there was no financial gain involved and no-one is saying that the hours are incorrect. She was just trying to help our son. Any advice appreciated.

Can your son not write a letter explaining exactly what has happened and tell them your wife was only acting in his best interests and forgot to put pp before the signature.

Yes, and we will do that but I was wondering more on the legalities as to whether this is fraud even though consent was given.

Did your wife have an authority to sign time sheets?
