Hey thanks for all the support & advice, much appreciated.

She just got home from her meeting.
She at least did have the courage to demand proof and offer to resign if they couldn't produce any. It turns out some idiot had reported all this bul**** to the main manager and he acted on it without bothering to check facts. Both the stealing and leaving open of the door were supposed to have occured on a day when she wasn't at work. This is why her supervisor went in to the meeting with her, to confirm she was not even in the building.

Anyway the result is, this troublemaker, who it turns out is already on his 4th warning out of a maximum of 3 (for what that's worth!) now faces the sack and my friend has been given a substantial pay rise and has been moved to another floor where she says will have a much better work environment and an easier job.

Make of that what you will, but she's really happy with that bless her..

Hmmm...sounds like they want to avoid having to go to the ET big time. She has enough to sue their ass and probably should.

And what if she didn't want to work there, given what's been going on? Have they done enough to cover their backsides or does she still have a potential constructive dismissal claim if she decides to walk?

She may well still have grounds for a claim, but as the employer has taken some steps to remedy the situations it might be less strong now.

If she couldn't face being there, she could still claim, arguing the measures were too little too late.

Yeh, she could have had the book thrown at them, but it's her choice and she's happy to let it go & move on, so hopefully that's the end of it.
It just amazes me how such a seseless idiot can end up being so well paid to take responsibility for such a big organisation, but then a brief look through the news of any given day shows it's quite normal..

Excellent result. She still has her options open, I guess, so if things are still difficult for her, then constructive dismissal may still be pursuable.

Not wishing to seem irreverent, but this debacle seems to illustrate that some people have learning difficulties and cope with them well, whereas those who NEVER learn are really the more disadvantaged.
