Good Afternoon, I have recently applied for another role with a different company . My understanding was my current role had a 1 month notice period which was in my offer letter which came with the contract to sign . Which I used in my application .The contract however says 3 months, the offer letter and the contract have the same date , if I was succesful in the new role woud I have a negotiating position with my current company ? TIA

You signed the contract, so that will take precedence. If you are offered the role, you will have to ask your present employer to accept short notice or ask the new employer to agree a later start date, or maybe a bit of both.Lawyer (solicitor) - retired from practice, now supervising solicitor in a university law clinic.
