  • Delivery company cheating me off wages

    Hello
A popular UK, self-employed courier job was advertised online with a min daily earnings of £30. Delivering a min of 40 parcels at a starting rate of £0.60p and reimbursement on fuel outside 5miles.

They promised to pay 2 days trial. But never did. But because it was constantly busy. I complained and was told to be paitent

I joined mid-month and at the end of the month. Then was paid £260. Shockingly my daily rates were calculated as low as £16, sometimes £21 per day.

I did sometimes 8hours And I did an average 70 parcels or more, Using my car and fuel, they set the routes to deliver and sent me to locations 10-20miles (outside my city), remote farmlands without a physical address (only a name), then the balance of £280 paid next month. No reimbursement. No other incentives

I had complained of location and difficulty via whatsapp, and then, kept within the city after almost 10 trips of 8 hours plus

I emailed the management who are being difficult and refusing to listen, saying i was paid a flat £0.65 per all parcels. Big or small (and some were quite big)

    Please advise

    Many thanks

Unfortunately this is not an employment law question as you are self-employed not directly employed.

Did you sign any contract or agreement with them and does it set out the basis of how you will be paid?
