H,
This query wiill no doubt rlle up some memebers, and be considered cynical by others.
I work for a local council. I have been n Sick Leave for about 9 months, and am being paid half salary. I am just past SRA, and have begun to think that I shoud not return, mainly because I can not stand my Line manager.or, to be more precise, his micro maaging techniques.
I have nearly 3 months left on my current fit note. I coud just wait for the clock to count down, but he will be expecting me to report on my medical doctors appointments, and to have regular meeting to discuss return to work strategies.
The question is: I am contractually required to give only 7 days notice, but they must give 3 months. If I was to give, say, 10 weeks notice, so those meetings would not be required, would they have to contine paying my sick pay? Could giving so much notice be detrimental? Could they dismiss me?
Thanks
