  • Salary withheld

Hi, my son started back at work last month after being off for over a year with mental health issues. He has not been paid and despite emails to his immediate line manager it has not been resolved. HR say they cannot do anything as the line manager must raise an action. However, the line manager is now ignoring all emails from my son.

This is not acceptable. Escalate to the top.

Legal action can follow if need be, but it won't achieve anything quickly.

If not resolved quickly your son should raise a formal Grievance under the company's Grievance procedures. This needs to be done before starting any sort of legal action in courts or employment tribunal.
