  • Footage on bodycam

    Hi
I work in a field where body cams are worn and need some info please
whilst being dropped off my work colleagues bodycam was on the dashboard and not being worn but unbeknown to us recording we were having a banter and jokes about different things and about our supervisor telling us to make sure cameras are off when going loo as she doesn’t want to see that I made some jest along the lines that it might turn her on.This was recorded which we were unaware of but for some reason they were looking at footage(which we were under the impression only when a incident occurs can they do this as they are there for our safety) now I’m being investigated for improper comments.Any advice please

You say you were under the impression they can only view bodycam footage when a incident occurs but I would suggest that you firstly need to refer to the company policy in respect of bodycams.

Sorry I have been offline for a few days.

How long have you been employed at the company?

After the investigation where you invited to a disciplinary meeting?
