  • Bullying at work

OK so this is on behalf of a friend who was an HGV driver, he was an employee for a large company and had worked for this company for several years, after a minor accident due to low lying branches. ( no fault of his own ) he felt he was getting picked on a bit , not long after he had his hrs reduced and also started getting phone calls from the management saying he was not quick enough doing his run. Management accusing him of not being quick enough were not even sure of the runs he was allocated, he was brought into the office and accused once again for not being quick enough even though he had been assigned a completey different run , thing came to a head when he was accused of being responsible for not checking his oil levels on his vehicle causing the engine to seize which turned out not to be true, this and a few other things really leafs me to believe that he has a good case for claiming constructive dismissal , would like to hear other people's opinions, many thanks

Take care with constructive dismissal. It is not a course to be followed lightly. It means making yourself unemployed, and then spending several months fighting a case. Does your friend need all that stress and grief (I see that you have been through an Employment Tribunal case yourself)? Wouldn't he do better to look for another job and leave at a time of his choosing?
