  • Risk of Redundancy

Two designers from the same team that work from the same queue of work have been told they’re at risk of redundancy.

A designer from a different team, who is not at risk and works from a different queue, is currently doing work from the queue of those at risk. Is this allowed/unfair?

What reasons have been given for the roles being at risk of redundancy?

I do not provide advice by PM although I may on occasion ask you to send me documents this way but any related advice will be provided back on your thread.

I do my best to provide good practical advice, however I do so without liability.
If you have any doubts then do please seek professional legal advice.

From the very brief description if you are the only two designers working in new sales and that area of the business is ceasing to exist then yes you should be notified the role is at risk.

However, in terms of the selection pool for those redundancies, the company has an obligation to consider employees who undertake the same or similar roles in different parts of the business unless there is good reason to excuse them. This means that if there are other designers in the business they should potentially be included in the selection pool.
